Saturday 21st January saw another running of the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock Park.
175th Anniversary
The Peter Marsh Group, the Bootle based packaging company is busily preparing for its 175th Anniversary. The Group consists of Peter Marsh & Sons Ltd who make paper sacks and Peter Marsh Packaging who make corrugated boxes.
Wayne Thomas Retires
On Thursday 31st March 2011, Wayne Thomas an employee of 29 years retired shortly after his 67 Birthday. Wayne had been a Director of the Company and played a massive part in the quality, Environmental and health and Safety areas within the Group.

About Us
The company’s origins were as linen drapers but by the end of the 18th Century it had begun to trade in sacks. The first half of the 1900’s saw the company expand to five factories. In the 1960’s the group moved into the production of paper sacks and is now one of the leading suppliers throughout the UK. In 1978 the corrugated division was established to supply boxes, die cuts and fitments to all industries, principally in the North-West.
Family
The Peter Marsh Group is a family business through and
through. Not only does the sixth generation of our Founder work for the
company, but also there are several generations
of many of our employees
currently with us. We are naturally very proud of this. This demonstrates
continuity and creates a happy working environment
Current Members
Brothers Simon (who can be seen in the centre of the photograph) and Ben Marsh (on the left of the photograph) are the fifth generation of the Marsh family to run the business. Simon is the Chaiman of the Group whilst Ben concentrates on the family's farming activities and handles some key accounts in the southern half of the UK. Simon's son Peter (shown on the right) joined the Company in 1996 and is the Chief Executive of the group; he of course is the sixth generation of Marsh family to have joined the Company.
